This evening was an absolute blast. It was great to be joined by my friend and fellow Burren Open Mic regular, Jim Wells. Jim plays a mix of originals and well-chosen covers. His performance shows a depth and range of emotion, from gentle and contemplative to a passionate, driving beat.
And there's nothing like a great turnout to charge up the energy level in the room. This was one of the most fun gigs I've played, in a room packed with friendly faces, some familiar and others new. Thanks to everyone for coming out, and I hope that you enjoyed it half as much as I did!
The icing on the cake was a surprise visit from my uncle from western New York, who called my aunt on his cell phone so that she could listen in.
